Elena Casini

Born in Rome in 1992, she moves in North Italy a few years later with her family, where she develops independently her style.
Graduated at the Politecnico di Milano in 2017, she has a Master degree. If Architecture is to her the composed result of the experience of a place,
Art is deep emotion, it’s diving in the personal subconscious.

Faithful to her idea, she refuses any teaching or school: “Art has to be felt, not learned.”

Her work is focused on intimate violence, calm but full of tension.

It is a continuous meditation on the human being, a dialogue between the real world and imagination, the body and the mind: every detail counts.

It is said that experiences are shaping our soul, the way we perceive the world, how we react to it. If this is true, then every single person we meet is leaving something into us, a seed that grows into our subconscious and leads our reactions. Every person we meet is then a stamp on our skin, a small black being around, on and inside our body. With my paintings I am talking about this process of influence, this naturalization of experiences that grows around and on us, I am trying to materialize the layers of the subconscious as a growing plant. Its roots are into our darkest and deepest part, we can never see them, we just appreciate the multitudes and colours of its flowers. So you will see plants, dancing silhouettes of memories, small black beings standing, looking and talking about you,  the skin of the bodies, fleshes with blue shadows and multicoloured marks. Let's take a sip together of their own experiences, plunging for a few minutes in a different reality.

She paints with watercolours, acrylic, oil on canvas, cotton and walls when there is nothing else available. But most of all, she paints with her heart..
